Letter from the Principal

Dear Prospective OLPH Family,

Thank you for your interest in our school! OLPH has been serving Rocky Mount and the surrounding communities for 83 years. We welcome students from diverse backgrounds and work in partnership with parents to maximize students spiritual and academic growth. We are a small, family-oriented school that believes all children are gifts from God! We strive for academic excellence while incorporating faith and values into our daily instruction. Our faculty and staff will care about your child!

Reasons to consider our school:

Academic Excellence: Catholic schools are anchored in tradition and high expectations. We offer a structured, rigorous curriculum, but work with students to reach their individual potential.

Diversity: Our school is rich in diversity. We accept students from different socio-economic, religious, and cultural backgrounds Our students learn to appreciate different cultures and carry that appreciation into their interactions with other communities of people as they grow older.

Small class sizes: Students can receive more personalized and individual instruction when class sizes are small. Our PK-1st grades have assistants as well.

Faith: We want our students to Know God, Love God and Serve God. MS students participate in Virtue studies and all students participate in service projects. We attend church weekly and live our faith. We respect other faiths as we share in our love of God. Our teachers care about every child in the school!

Affordable Tuition: We want all children to have the opportunity to attend our school. Therefore, our tuition is lower than most private schools in the area. We offer scholarships to families and accept the NC Opportunity Scholarship.

Structured, safe environment: “Structure creates habits, habits make routines, and routines become who you are daily. This helps us train our minds and body and enables us to focus on our goals and to regulate our emotions.” Every student has the right to learn in a safe educational environment without distraction.

Parent Involvement: Supportive parents are vital to the success of their child(ren) and our school! We warmly welcome you to be a part of our school environment. We want to work together so your child reaches his/her potential academically, socially, and emotionally!

In Christ,
