Student Services FAQs

If my child has been privately evaluated, how should I share the results?

Share the results with the principal.  Steps will be taken if further follow-up is required.

Will OLPH Catholic School honor a public school’s IEP?

Non-public schools are not required to implement an IEP written by a public school system.  As part of the admissions process, we will ask you to submit the IEP so that we can determine if your child will be well served at OLPH Catholic School.

What should I do if I feel my child needs to be tested?

Set up a conference with your child’s teacher.  Steps will be taken if further follow-up is required.

Where should I go to have my child tested?

You may contact Nash County Public Schools at 252-459-5220. This service is free to students who are Nash County residents.

Another option is to contact NCSU Psychoeducational Clinic at (919) 515-1713. There is a cost associated with this option.

Can modifications/accommodations be made for my child in the classroom?

We have very limited resources to make accommodations and/or modifications, as we do not have a special need staff. Any support provided would need to be done in the classroom setting.
